Ceylon Technical College

In 1953 he received a Diploma in Building Construction and Draftsmanship from Ceylon Technical College, Sri Lanka.

Formally known as the Ceylon Technical College, Maradana College of Technology is the oldest technical college in Sri Lanka. It was established by the government in 1893 at Maradana in Colombo, as an institution of higher education for Technical and Scientific field and all technical training and development specific to civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.

In 1933, the College began preparing students for the external degrees in Engineering at the University of London, as well as for associate membership examinations of the professional institutions of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.

In 1942 the Ceylon Technical College was separated from the Education Department and was made the Ceylon Technical College Department. Several years later began courses in accountancy and commerce. In 1950 the engineering courses were transferred to the newly established Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ceylon.
